Principal's Message.

Dear Lockwood Families,

Over the past two weeks, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity has increased in our area. Please be assured that our school has clear procedures in place should ICE ever attempt to enter our campus or front office. The safety, dignity, and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority.

We want to be very clear: our school is committed to supporting all students and families, regardless of immigration status, background, or circumstances. Every member of our community deserves to feel safe, respected, and valued at school.

February’s schoolwide theme is Compassion, which is especially meaningful during times of uncertainty. We are encouraging students to practice kindness, empathy, and understanding toward others, and to support one another through caring words and actions.

Families can help reinforce compassion at home by reminding students that small acts of care—helping others, using kind language, and showing patience—can make a meaningful difference.

I have also included (Family Resources) that provide information about your rights related to ICE. We hope these resources are helpful and offer reassurance.

Thank you for your continued partnership as we work together to support our students, families, and community.

Warm regards,

Sam Ramirez

Become a Colunteer (Classroom/Field Trip)

All volunteers in Northshore are required to complete an online volunteer application to volunteer during the school year. It is also important to note that all volunteers who have completed a background check in the past will be expected to renew their volunteer application annually. If you completed a Level 2 background check in the past, you will only need to complete a Level 1 check to renew your volunteer status.

Join the Lunch Recess Volunteer Team

Our playground volunteers help make Lockwood a safe and fun place to be by helping kids in small ways like tying shoes, to bigger ways like giving gentle reminders of school policy, reporting incidents to playground staff and building social skills. This is a great way to get to know our school and Lockwood students of all ages!

We are looking for volunteers on Mondays and Fridays. Our mid week days are at capacity for recess volunteers. If interested, use the link below after you have read through Northshore School District Volunteer Orientation and completed your volunteer background check (see Become a Volunteer above).

Change in After School Plans

Any changes to your student’s normal routine must be confirmed with a written note from a parent or guardian. If a note is not possible, please call the office at 425-408-5800 by:

  • 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
  • 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday

This ensures the teacher has time to make necessary arrangements.

Please do not email staff, as absences or substitutes may prevent timely communication.
